*Costs help offset low cost mental health care and services for 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals.

We do offer reduced fee sessions with priority to 2SLGBTQIA+ & Black and non-black People of Color; space for reduced fee sessions is currently limited. We understand that therapy is oftentimes inaccessible and will do our best to work with you and your circumstances. In the event we are unable to work together we will provide appropriate referrals to other providers currently accepting new clients. We do not require a proof of income or any type of documentation. If your circumstances change while we are working together please let us know and we can discuss available options.

We accept credit and debit cards as well as HSA cards. It is our practice to keep a card on file that will be charged at the end of the days we have an appointment. Please ensure the payment method we have on file is valid and current.

Insurance

We do not currently accept insurance and do not file directly with your insurance for reimbursement. We are more than happy to provide you with the necessary documents (Superbill or Invoice) for you to provide to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Because all insurance plans vary, you should contact your insurance company directly prior to beginning services to determine your coverage benefits for out-of-network behavioral health providers. Your insurance carrier will be able to inform you about whether or not your sessions will be covered, what percentage will be covered, and their procedures for reimbursement as well as what information is required for billing documents.

FAQs

how do I know if we will work well together?

Connection and rapport are important for a therapeutic relationship. As with any relationship, building trust and comfort with someone new can take time - especially when opening up to a stranger about your personal life. We offer a complimentary (free) 20 minute consultation for new clients to ask questions and get to know Erica before the first appointment. Learn more about what therapy is like at Heartlines Counseling.

do you offer reduced rates?

Yes! We do have several spots with varying reduced rates with priority to LGBTQ+ and Black and non-black People of Color. Please include this information when you inquire, and we will also talk more during your initial consultation about your current needs.

what is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment as this time is reserved specifically for you. In the event you do not cancel 24 hours in advance you will incur the previously agreed upon full fee. We do try to be flexible and understanding as life happens and unexpected things do come up. It is at the discretion of your therapist if the late cancellation fee is to be waived due to an emergency or severe weather.

what are your hours of operation?

Hours of operation are between 10 AM and 6 PM, Tuesday through Thursday. We do not respond to emails or phone communications over the weekend or holidays. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for us to respond to a call, email, or inquiry.

We currently see clients Tuesday through Thursday, with availability for daytime and afternoon appointments.

What do I do in case of an emergency?

Things come up between appointments that can be challenging to deal with. In case of a crisis or emergency, please contact 911 or utilize a crisis support service or hotline.

Please let me know afterward if you utilize an emergency or crisis support service and we will talk further at your next appointment about next steps and care.
