hey there!

Iā€™m Erica (pronouns: she/her) and I am a queer relational therapist.

My own story and challenges have shaped my identity as a queer therapist. I know it is not always easy to ask for support, yet you got this far! I am here to be your partner in your healing process toward knowing yourself better and owning your identities and experiences.

I am a strengths based and relational therapist who seeks to build connections with others (like you!) to help you navigate this wild world and the systems that surround us. I incorporate a sense of humor and occasional snark in my therapeutic relationships. I will meet you with sincerity and compassion as well as challenge you when needed.

ā€œkeep it up, i know you can. Just keep following the heartlines on your hand.ā€

Florence + The Machine

why the name heartlines?

Music has always been an important part of my day to day. As a person who feels deeply, I appreciate the poetry and deeper messages within my favorite songs. And of course, I love a great beat!

One of my favorite artists is Florence + The Machine and I especially found comfort in her music during an important time in my own journey toward healing and recovery. When envisioning Heartlines Counseling and our values I recalled the song ā€œHeartlinesā€ and further appreciated the reference to the deeper work of what therapy and healing embodies - connecting with your heart and body toward healing and thriving. Listen to the song Heartlines by Florence + The Machine here.

When Iā€™m not in the therapy space Iā€™m likely to be seen spending time with my partner and our pets (a dachshund and an orange tabby cat). I enjoy spending time outside, crafting, and baking. Fun fact, the heart cookies above were from my time working as a professional baker!

For as long as I can remember I have identified as an artist and creativity shows up in all aspects of my life. In the therapeutic space this can look like us utilizing creative arts activities together, or listening to a song that holds importance for you during a session.
